The Ventilator

The day that mom told the doctor to pull the plug, I was in the ICU with her. The ventilator that they put down in Phil was not doing anything but working against him.

He was breathing but in a irregular fashion. Breathing the same way that a person would that was having a grand mal epileptic seizure. All of the sudden, he would stop breathing and his heart would stop. The EKG would indicate a flat line.

Techs would run to his assistance and would revive his body. That happened 3 times before mom told them just to pull the plug. I told mom that his body wanted to die but the care unit wouldn't let him.

It's my belief that they were using defensive medicine to cover up the fact that they really screwed up. Who goes in with a constricted hernia and comes out a veggie?

Before that happened, the attending doctor put a q-tip on phils eye. He was non-responsive to it. It would have caused anyone else that was not in a veggie state great pain.

The hospital used the Good Samaritan Act as an affirmative defense in the lawsuit after the lawsuit was moved to KJS law.

The doctor wasn't a 'Good Samaritan' off the street. He was getting paid by the hospital.

The problem is that Susan Capra was told about what might happen if they mixed anesthesia and albuterol and she did nothing.

I was with mom when I told her to say something to her about it. Capra agreed with mom.

THIS WAS SOMETHING THAT YOU COULDN'T UNSEE.
